CANDLE CARE

Tips for the best (and safest) burn:

  • When lighting your candle for the first time, it is important that you allow the wax to make a full and complete melt pool before extinguishing the flame. It will take approximately 1-2 hour for the wax to melt across the entire surface. This creates a “wax memory” in the candle, preventing tunneling and creating an even burn in the future.

  • Trim your wooden wick and keep it short. It is important that your wick is trimmed to about â…›” to ensure maximum burn time and to prevent smoking/sooting on the sides of the glass. Most issues can be solved and prevented by trimming the wick.

    • If your candle is producing smoke or soot, your wick is not trimmed enough and it is likely that your flame will extinguish on its own. Wait until the wax has re-hardened from the last burn and wipe the soot off with a damp cloth. Trim your wick with a wick-trimmer or use your fingers to gently snap off any excess ash or burnt sections of the wick. Shake any burnt wick pieces into the trash to prevent it from getting stuck in your melt pool.

    • If the flame is not big enough to create a consistent melt pool, extinguish the candle, trim your wick if needed and relight. Sometimes wooden wicks just need to be relit.

  • Burn in 2 to 4 hour increments. To preserve maximum fragrance, never burn your candle longer than 4 hours at a time.

  • Always store your candle in a cool, dark and dry place. Avoid placing your candles where they will be directly exposed to sunlight or harsh indoor lighting.

  • Never burn your candle all the way down. Leave at least ½” of wax at the bottom and dispose any leftover wax in the trash. Vessels can be washed with hot water and soap for repurpose.

  • Do not use the lid to extinguish the candle.

  • Burn your candle within sight and away from drafts, pets & children.
